Virtual Conference Details

The WC4 planning committee for the conference had to make the very difficult decision to move the conference to a virtual format, rather than in-person attendance for the October 2021 date at the UCD Conference Center. While UC Davis has gone to great lengths to keep the local community, campus, and conference attendees safe, the prevailing rise in the delta variant of Covid-19 throughout the country has forced us to change course for the conference.

We also consulted with the Yolo County Public Health Medical Officer who indicated that she thought that an in-person conference would be at high risk for a super spreader event because of the delta variant, independent of vaccine status, and strongly suggested that moving the meeting to a virtual event would be in the public’s best interest.

The web hosting platform (Whova) we have in place will offer an experience well suited for an engaging virtual conference. Participants will be able to easily navigate to wherever they desire (different presentation, chat with sponsors, interact on discussion threads, etc.), similar to an in-person event where they would move to a new room, but instead can do this with easy navigation on their computers or the WC4 mobile app. The Agenda, located under the Schedule tab above) remains the same, absent unanticipated last minute changes, including timing of presentations. All times listed are Pacific Time.

You have to REGISTER in order to access the conference website for the live streaming events on October 14 and 15.

As we update the virtual platform content, check back for more details here.
