Dear Cancer Expert,
Are you interested in meeting, supporting, and partnering with people who are passionate about the problem of colorectal cancer (CRC) and are committed to doing something about it?
Then I invite you to consider sponsoring and attending the Western Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Consortium Conference (WC4) in Portland, Oregon at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute on March 6-7, 2023.
If you would like additional information on sponsorships please send an email to sponsors@westerncrcconsortium.org.
The Western Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Consortium was formed in 2019, modeled after the Southeastern Colorectal Cancer Consortium. To best serve the western region of the United States, WC4 brings together an energetic group of advocates, from both public and private sectors, with the intention of exchanging preventive CRC ideas and experiences. The delegates representing the seven western states include CRC advocates, health center and hospital workers, researchers, academia, physicians, nurses, corporate managers, survivors and government leaders.
The Consortium's conference will be hosted at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, located in Portland, Oregon, on March 6 and 7, 2023.
Topics will include:
- Approaches to sustain and build upon colorectal cancer screening programs so that a greater segment of the population is reached;
- Programs around the nation and the west with regard to colorectal cancer and its prevention;
- Review of how data should be collected regarding screening engagement;
- How data is reported;
- Explore systems that screen and treat the uninsured and medically underserved;
- Explore solutions to the emerging problem of increasing colorectal cancer incidence in younger adults;
- Examine the roles of health insurers and large comprehensive medical systems in increasing CRC screening rates;
- Programs that engage primary care physicians and gastroenterologists;
- Discuss and give examples of the role of public health professionals in increasing CRC screening
